The workplace, indeed, our world is a tough place these days. I’m 57 and I still feel the pressure from the world and work. There are days I yearn for the 1980s and 1990s when we didn’t have smartphones and the constant stream of news and nastiness. Those decades had their own challenges for sure, however, in hindsight they seemed less stressful. In concert with the toughness of our world and work is the epidemic (I call it) of bad leadership in the workplace. This epidemic is caused from an almost complete lack of leadership training and education in one’s vocational journey. Many organizational leaders assess people only by their intelligence then place them in leadership positions where they fail resulting in employee disengagement and turnover. This is why I coach!
