Scaling Autonomy

While leaders ought to strive for greater autonomy, they should control the dial on how much.

I hear ‘scale’ often as I immerse myself in businesses to help them invest in their leaders. The Small Business Administration defines scale as setting the stage to enable and support growth in a company. Scale is often found in a problem statement such as, “How do we scale this new product line?”
