Sorry Gang, 2024 is Over
Bad time to plan and execute things folks. Breathe and take in the season.

Two things happened this week which gave birth to this blog. I was assisting an organization with some projects and events it was contemplating for 2024 and talking with a networking group I lead about where and when to host our December event. In these moments I realized what few days and times are left of this year. One of the leaders in my networking group mentioned the season we were in and how difficult it is to schedule things. “2024 is essentially over,” I thought.
Has anyone conquered this season’s calendar yet? Many leaders and organizations approach November and December calendars as if they are full 30-day months. They are far from it. I’ve never been in an organization that had the calendar mastered. I’ve seen a few come close but it was only in a moment that they had achieved such a feat. Moments, hours, or days later changes came making the calendar inaccurate. The U.S. Army has a training calendar standard of a six-week lock in, meaning no changes to the calendar within six weeks. That standard was never achieved, at least in the units I served in, especially during our years in combat.
