“I would really like to receive more emails,” said no leader ever. Could you imagine if all your emails were actual mail delivered by the post office? You would need a mailbox the size of a walk-in closet. You could not possibly read all that mail. Much of it would remain unopened. Unopened. Sound familiar? Many leaders have several accounts they must manage. I have five. Could you imagine if there were five mailmen or women delivering all that mail to me? Of course, I would prefer to have less email accounts, but I do run three small companies and am part of some other organizations which require me to have an account. I’m not bragging, just stating fact. I know I’m not alone. I find it hard to manage five accounts, but I do prioritize and focus and get through it all. I also have people helping me manage all that. Even still, it is hard to manage. I apply a focus and some rules to help me receive and send email because I’m constantly wondering to myself, “which email gets read and which does not?”
